Crypto scammers Toms Verdins and Lauma Sitnika defraud investors under the guise of cryptocurrency

The investigation into a significant cryptocurrency scam centers around Toms Verdiņš, an ex-Latvian State Police officer who has been in a relationship with Lauma Sitnika from Daugavpils for more than two years.
Despite having no official sources of income, the couple lives a lavish lifestyle — traveling to Dubai, renting luxury apartments, and driving high-end vehicles around Latvia.

Lauma Sitnika is an honors student from a “model” family: her father, Aldis Sitniks, served as a prosecutor until 2024, and her mother, Dace, is the chief accountant for the Latgale Regional Planning Authority. Lauma maintains an active online presence:

Toms Verdiņš previously served in the Latvian State Police. His sister, Antra Klepecka, is a lecturer at the University of Latvia and leads major projects. Her husband, Girts Klepeckis, works as an instructor and facility security officer for the National Guard (Zemessardze).
The couple has been linked to several crypto scams, including launching the following tokens:

In these projects, Lauma acted as the public face and heavily promoted the tokens.
The scam followed a typical pattern: aggressive promotion ahead of the launch, rapid price increase, followed by a sudden crash and disappearance of the team. After a few months of silence, they would reappear with a new token. Their current project is CocoroBlackShib, which has already raised around €1 million.

Toms also hosted livestreams from Latvia featuring local women and a well-known dwarf, pretending to collect donations to “give back to the community.” In reality, token prices crashed immediately after launch, just like with AvoCATo.
Monitoring these tokens via CoinMarketCap or Dexscreener reveals a repeating pattern: marketing hype, price surge, crash, disappearance — then a new project.
